FREE WORKSHOPS
THE INNER WORK OF NONPROFIT LEADERSHIP
A Free, Three-Part Interactive Webinar Series
Leading a nonprofit requires more than technical knowledge. It also demands clarity, courage, self-awareness, and the support of people who understand the work.
Each free session will include a short overview from nonprofit leadership consultant Amber Parker, followed by a facilitated conversation. Participants will be invited to reflect, share their experiences, and learn from other nonprofit leaders facing similar challenges.

WHEN EVERYTHING FEELS URGENT
OCTOBER 14 - 2:00 - 3:00 PM EST
Nonprofit leaders are accustomed to working with limited time, limited resources, and seemingly unlimited needs. When everything feels important, and everyone is looking to you, it can be difficult to determine what truly deserves your attention.
In this interactive conversation, nonprofit leadership consultant Amber Parker will offer a short overview of practical ways to evaluate priorities, protect organizational capacity, and distinguish between the work a leader must own and the work that can be delegated, delayed, or discontinued.
Participants will then be invited into a facilitated discussion about the pressures they are experiencing in their own organizations. Through thoughtful prompts and shared reflection, the group will explore questions such as:
• How do we decide what truly matters when everything feels urgent?
• What responsibilities are we carrying that no longer belong to us?
• How can we set boundaries without letting down our staff, boards, or communities?
• What could become possible if we stopped trying to do everything?
Come prepared to reflect, share if you wish, and learn from other nonprofit leaders who understand what it means to lead when the needs are greater than the available capacity.
THE CONVERSATIONS NONPROFIT LEADERS AVOID
NOVEMBER 18 - 2:00 - 3:00 PM EST
Most nonprofit leaders have at least one conversation they know they need to have but continue to postpone. It may involve an employee who is not meeting expectations, a board member who regularly crosses boundaries, a colleague who creates conflict, or a partner relationship that is no longer working.
In this interactive session, nonprofit leadership consultant Amber Parker will begin with a short overview of why capable leaders avoid difficult conversations and offer a practical approach to preparing for them with clarity, honesty, and care.
Participants will then take part in a facilitated conversation about the challenges that make these situations so difficult. Together, the group will explore questions such as:
• What makes us reluctant to address problems directly?
• How can we be candid without becoming unkind?
• What do accountability and compassion look like when practiced together?
• How do we respond when the other person becomes defensive or emotional?
• How can we tell when a relationship needs repair—and when a firmer boundary is required?
Participants will have an opportunity to learn from one another, reflect on a conversation they may be avoiding, and leave with greater clarity about how to begin it.
YOU DON’T NEED TO REINVENT YOURSELF IN JANUARY
DECEMBER 16 - 2:00 - 3:00 PM EST
The arrival of a new year often brings pressure to create ambitious goals, adopt new habits, and become a better version of ourselves. But nonprofit leaders may not need another list of expectations. We may need time to understand what the past year has taught us, and decide what we no longer want to carry forward.
In this reflective and interactive session, nonprofit leadership consultant Amber Parker will offer a short framework for evaluating the experiences, habits, and responsibilities that shaped your leadership during the past year.
Amber will then facilitate a guided conversation in which participants can reflect together on questions such as:
• What sustained us this year, and what depleted us?
• What did we continue doing simply because it was expected?
• What responsibilities, habits, or assumptions are we ready to release?
• What do we want to protect as we enter a new year?
• How do we create meaningful change without turning January into another exercise in overachievement?
Participants will use a simple Keep, Change, and Release reflection to identify what they want to carry into the new year. Come prepared for an honest, encouraging conversation with other nonprofit leaders—and leave with a more intentional and realistic vision for the months ahead.
